3 capsules daily

Each Acetyl-L-Carnitine capsule from ZeinPharma® gives you 500mg of the active ingredient. The general consumption recommendation for L-carnitine lies between 300 and 2,000 mg per day, depending on your circumstances and your own well-being. Acetyl-L-carnitine capsules have a recommended intake of 1,500 mg per day, equivalent to 3 capsules. These can be consumed in addition to the dietary L-carnitine. When you take the capsules is basically not that important. However, the consumption together with the main meals or as soon as possible after a sports training session is recommended.

Bioactive form of L-carnitine

Acetyl-L-carnitine capsules contain the "acetylated" form of L-carnitine, which might sounds very “chemical”, but it actually only means that it is a biochemically active form of carnitine.

Acetyl-L-carnitine has a higher bioavailability compared to conventional L-carnitine and hence it gets into the body cells faster. The acetylated form of L-carnitine occurs in humans in the mitochondria, the so-called "power plants" of the cell. These work, for example while making sports, with the energy coming from fatty acids. L-carnitine has the task to transport these fatty acids to the mitochondria. Conversely, this means that during sports activities, big amounts of L-carnitine are consumed by the cells of the muscles.

Unique feature of acetyl-L-carnitine

Acetyl-L-carnitine is not only involved in the traditional metabolic pathways of L-carnitine, such as L-carnitine tartrate or L-carnitine citrate, but it can do even more! Why? The peculiarity of acetyl-L-carnitine lies in the acetyl group. In contrast to all other L-carnitines, the blood-brain barrier can be overcome with the help of the acetyl group. In the brain, it serves as a source for the formation of important neurotransmitters, such as acetylcholines, which forward the signals between the nerves and the muscles.

Natural and vegan

If you prefer a low-meat or even meat-free diet, it may make sense for you to supplement your own diet with the acetyl-L-carnitine capsules. Especially physically active people can thus ensure an adequate supply for the body.

As the name "carnitine" already suggests, L-carnitine occurs in nature primarily in food of animal origin. Particularly high is the content of L-carnitine in red meat. On the other hand, vegetarian products, such as fruits and vegetables or cereals contain only a very small amount of L-carnitine.

Despite this, ZeinPharma does not use any animal ingredients for its acetyl-L-carnitine capsules, therefore the product is also suitable for vegetarians and vegans!

L-carnitine in the metabolism

L-carnitine plays a central role in fat metabolism, more specifically, for the fat metabolism taking place in mitochondria in the cells. These are called "cell power plants" and derive their energy from fatty acids. The required fatty acids do not occur in the mitochondria themselves, but are only transported by the L-carnitine to the "power plants". Once there, the fats are then degraded by the beta-oxidation. In order to be able to maintain this transport into the cells, there are up to 25 grams of L-carnitine in the body of an adult human being. These gets primarily stored within the human organism in vital areas of the musculature, such as the skeletal muscle and the heart, since these organs derive their energy mainly from fatty acids, made available by L-carnitine.

Taking Acetyl-L-Carnitine Capsules from ZeinPharma® is absolutely safe. The analyses of external laboratories guarantee that no heavy metals and microorganisms are present in the raw material. Thus, it can be constantly excluded the case that unwanted impurities of the product are present. In addition, only such raw materials enter into the production, and not with a possibility that afterwards could be declared harmless after detailed examination. Therefore, ZeinPharma can always guarantee the high quality of acetyl-L-carnitine capsules.
